{project 50} #01 Framed Rustic Christmas Tree

It’s Christmas eve! And here is my Christmas “tree”. 🙂

For this project, I reused an old frame and repainted it white. I have attached a jute string, shaping it like a Christmas tree.

Then I just added some Christmas ornaments, keeping it simple and clean. I also tried using the red fabric poinsettia as a topper.

Here’s to wishing you all a Merry Christmas! Cheers! 🙂

{project 50} #03 Christmas Wall Ornaments

Only three days until Christmas! I am sharing here another easy-to-do project to use as your wall decor.

First thing to do is make templates of ornament shapes using cardboard (I used cereal & cookie boxes here):

Then trace them at the back of a variety of Christmas gift wrappers (old or new ones), cut and paste them on your walls like wallpaper.

I used a silver non-permanent marker as “strings” for the wall ornaments.

I hope you like them. One more tip: to remove the wall ornaments just soak them with warm water using a rug, let it sit for a couple of minutes then wipe them off the walls.

See you here again soon! 🙂

{project 50} #26 Plastic Fork Snowflakes

This is an upcycle/recycle project perfect for the holidays. Things you need are a bunch of plastic forks and a glue gun.

A glue gun is a crafter’s friend. Next to a pair of scissors, of course. 😉

I have been thinking for a very long time of what to do with these plastic forks that we have collected from buying those instant cup noodles and some food delivery and take-out services. Then I saw some inspiration from different DIY snowflakes out there.

I will be attaching some strings and I will add these to our DIY Christmas ornaments for this year.

Come back here soon for more 50 Days till Christmas projects! 🙂

{project 50} #40 Recycled Paper Medallions / Rosettes / Pinwheels

Paper medallions (some call them rosettes or pinwheels) are recently dominating the decorating and styling scene. It is very easy to make and it gives out a very whimsical vibe.

With this project, I used strips of paper from magazines, brochures, catalogs, book pages, art and origami papers.

The buttons are optional.

For detailed instructions on how to do paper medallions/rosettes/pinwheels, click HERE.

If you can see, I made some paper medallions with different edges, I used my craft scissors (the ones you see here) to cut the strips of paper. You may opt to use the medallions without putting buttons (or any circular thingy) at the middle.

This Martha Stewart video made me crave for edge punchers to add some beautiful texture and design to my paper medallions. (Oh, how I wish to receive at least one of those punchers for Christmas!)

I will be using these for our Christmas decor. 🙂

Enjoy making paper medallions!

I’ll see you here again soon! 🙂

{project 50} #47 Cardboard Tube Flowers

This is more of an upcycling/recycling project which I have already made last year for our DIY Christmas decor. I was Googling some samples of recycled decor and stumbled upon this project. I just couldn’t remember which site I saw the inspiration.

The process is really simple. You need cardboard tubes from toilet paper rolls or kitchen towel rolls like the ones below:

Cut the tubes horizontally like so:

Glue the pieces together to make a 5-petal flower:

And you’re done! 🙂

As you can see I have made some colored flowers, too, just like what I have made last year for the Christmas decor:

I used poster paints and some glitter glue for a hint of shimmer.

The white flowers I have made here for the {project 50} will be used for another project which I will later show you on this blog.

Enjoy making your cardboard tube flowers!

XOXO
